As the business has grown, one of Simon’s priorities has been to maintain the family culture that has shaped Democracy Counts from the very beginning — a culture built on shared respect, curiosity, and collaboration.
To help preserve and strengthen that identity, the team came together to define the values that matter most to them all. The result was TED — three words that capture what it means to be part of

Drive is what keeps us moving forward. It’s the motivation to do the best work possible, to innovate, and to deliver results we can be proud of. As Simon puts it, “I’ve always felt driven to do the best for our business and our people — and I’m not alone.”

Celebrating TED in Action
To recognise those values in practice, we launched our TED Awards — a monthly peer-nominated recognition programme that highlights team members who truly embody Trust, Expertise, and Drive.
We like to put out on our socials credit to team members who win this important recognition.
Each month, colleagues nominate someone who has gone above and beyond, whether by helping a teammate, solving a tough problem, or showing real initiative and care in their work.
It’s our way of celebrating the people who make Democracy Counts what it is — a company built on great technology, and even greater people.
