Competition Terms and Conditions

Democracy Counts – WhatsApp Channel – AEA GiveawayPrize: Weekend Away Voucher to the Value of £1,000. Entries open Monday 19th January and entries close Monday 26th January, 4 pm. Draw to be carried out at 7.30 pm Monday 26th January, 2026.

Important Entry Conditions

Entry to this competition is valid only when submitted exclusively via the Democracy Counts WhatsApp channel.Entrants must provide and use a valid gov.uk email address for the purposes of entry verification.Entries that do not meet these requirements will not be eligible.

1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is Democracy Counts.

2. Eligibility

  • This competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or over.

  • Entry must be made exclusively via the Democracy Counts WhatsApp channel.

  • Entrants must provide and use a valid gov.uk email address to qualify for entry and verification purposes.

  • Employees of Democracy Counts, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with this competition are excluded from entry.

3. The Prize

The prize consists of a holiday voucher with a maximum value of £1,000, redeemable exclusively through The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd.

4. Prize Provider

The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd is an independent travel agent. A sum of up to £1,000 will be allocated by Democracy Counts to The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd solely for the purpose of arranging the winner’s holiday booking.

5. Redemption and Validity

  • The voucher must be activated and a booking agreed within 12 months of the competition draw and winner announcement.

  • Failure to activate or confirm a booking within this period will result in forfeiture of the prize.

  • The prize has no cash alternative and is non-refundable.

6. Use of the Voucher

  • The voucher must be used towards a packaged holiday experience, which must include, at a minimum, accommodation at the destination.

  • The voucher cannot be used exclusively for transport costs such as flights, trains, or other travel-only expenses.

  • All bookings are subject to availability and suitability of holiday options offered by The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd at the time of booking.

7. Booking Arrangements

  • The winner will liaise directly with a Conscious Travel agent to discuss preferences, destinations, and suitable options within the voucher value.

  • Where the selected holiday exceeds the £1,000 voucher value, the winner may, at the discretion of The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd, pay an additional supplement to secure the booking.

  • Any supplement must be agreed between the winner and The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd.

8. Third-Party Terms

  • All holiday bookings are subject to the full terms and conditions of The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd and any applicable accommodation or service providers.

  • The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd does not operate as a price comparison service and cannot guarantee pricing relative to other travel providers or platforms.

9. Responsibility and Liability

  • Democracy Counts accepts no responsibility for the holiday experience itself, including but not limited to travel arrangements, accommodation quality, cancellations, amendments, or disruptions.

  • Any travel insurance, personal expenses, taxes, or additional costs not expressly included in the agreed holiday package are the sole responsibility of the winner.

10. General

  • The prize is non-transferable, except where applied to alternative holiday options that The Conscious Travel Shop Ltd is able to facilitate.

  • Democracy Counts reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw this competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
